Despite a terrible February birthday, Speaker made the National Derby
list with two wins. On his second birthday, he jammed his first Amateur
in Louisiana. Later the same year, he took an Amateur 3rd at the 1996
GRCA National Specialty field trial
Speaker completed his AFC in Memphis in October, 1998. He was the
National High Point Amateur Golden in 1998, 1999, and 2000, retiring
the Granatt Brothers. He was 1st in the Amateur at the GRCA
National Specialty in both 1999 and 2000 and 1st in the Open in 2001.
Speaker qualified for the National Amateur Championship Trial in 2000
and the Canadian National amateur and Open Trials in 2001.
Speaker completed his AFTCH (Canadian AFC) in 2001 with 2 Canadian wins.
